Mission

In 1989 Anthony Turiello, a 30-year veteran of the design and construction industry, founded Rescue Air Systems with a simple mission: to make the world a safer place by equipping buildings with Firefighter Air Replenishment Systems (FARS).

Legacy and Values

RescueAir was born from the ashes of one of the most devastating high-rise fires in California history, the First Interstate Bank building fire. After studying the post-incident reports, RescueAir Founder Anthony Turiello identified the process of shuttling air bottles up and down the stairs during emergency operations as a major strain on manpower and a serious impediment to efficiently fighting the fire. He realized there was a better way.

By creating a building-installed air standpipe solution, Turiello eliminated the need for the manual delivery of replacement air bottles. Today, Turiello and the team at RescueAir collaborate with leaders of the fire service to continually refine our product to meet the unique needs of each jurisdiction and structure type. We also work closely with industry-leading engineers, designers, consultants, construction companies, and technical specialists working across every element of today’s modern built environment.

Vision

As cities continue to grow in height and density, and structures become taller, larger, and more complex, we believe that FARS is the way forward to ensure the health and safety of the firefighters who protect these buildings and the people who occupy them. Our partners share that vision. Each and every day we work with fire departments, engineers, architects, leaders of city government, and others to make buildings safer and healthier. More than 500 buildings in 19 states are equipped with FARS.
